We were informed on Wednesday evening that a potentially dangerous bloom of blue green algae had appeared in Priory Lake. Whilst it’s not yet a huge bloom the risks are still real and the authorities have advised everyone not to go into the lake. Obviously this is not great news for triathletes or organisers but we have a duty of care and have made the decision to replace the swim with a 2.5k run going off in waves to spread the field a little onto the bike course. While this is not ideal for those great swimmers among you, it shouldn’t give you too much disadvantage. Unfortunately, we are susceptible to conditions on the course and have to deal with whatever nature throws at us.
On an upnote the weather is looking great with 17C and light winds.
